Playdate is a website that has come about out of frustration.  My family moved to the Kapiti Coast in May 2008 when my son was 1 1/2 and I was pregnant with baby #2.  Having suffered with post-natal depression after my first child I wanted to make sure I had support in place in a new town - by getting out and about and meeting other parents.  A year later and I was still discovering new things to try with our baby and toddler  - and I am sure there is still more out there for us.  While each new discovery is exciting, having all of the information in one place would have been easier for us.

I wanted to provide a one-stop website that lists all of the activities for parents with preschoolers in your area.  And thus playdate.co.nz was born.

Playdate has 2 areas of focus, or if you prefer, a 2 pronged approach.  I want to make sure that our children get the interaction and stimulation that they need for their development.  But more importantly I want to make sure that parents get the adult interaction and stimulation that THEY need for their sanity and well being.  After all a happy parent makes for a happy child (well most of the time!).
